Visegrad countries together for better environmental standards in buildings
According to the EPBD II (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive II) approved by the EP in 2010 under no. 2010/31/EU, a significant improvement of energy standards in buildings should be implemented by June 2012 in all EU countries. A common approach and sharing experiences within the V4 countries may be extremely helpful, making the finally approved legislation of far better quality and increasing the credibility of V4 countries.
Besides official policy, carried on by appropriate resorts, there is a need to prepare independent recommendations, carried on by environmental NGO´s, to evaluate different approaches.
Project aims:
- strengthen the position of the V4 in the area of energy standards of buildings
- create a common working group within the V4 and bear the implementation process
- prepare Expert Study, recommending the approach for Office and Retail Buildings
- organize a Round table with all partners to share the results
- extensively publicize all results and achievements
Activities:
- prepare a study about current progress in the implementation of the EPBD II Directive in each V4 country
- prepare an expert study Recommendations for Implementing the EPBD II in the Office and Retail Building Sector.
- organize a Roundtable of the key experts from all V4 countries, presenting current results
- promote the project results
CZ has finished an expert study Recommendations for Residential Buildings, so we want to share these experiences with other V4 countries. It is also extremely important and helpful to know the experiences from other V4 countries in order to share them together.
Office and Retail Building Sector are of great importance, after residential buildings they are the most numerous types of building. Consequently, the energy standards in these types of buildings are not so easy to set, so there is a big need for Study, recommending the approach for Office and Retail Buildings.
